Dominance of Nuclear Processes in the Dissociation of 8 B

چکیده
We study the break-up of B in collisions with heavy-ions. The process is described in terms of inelastic excitations leading to states in the continuum. The effects of the nuclear and Coulomb fields induced by the reaction partner are included on the same footing in the microscopic construction of the transition matrix elements. At variance with previous findings, the contribution of the nuclear component is found to be comparable to – and even larger than – that of the Coulomb one. Because of the weak binding energy of B the nuclear couplings associated with inelastic excitation to low-lying states in the continuum extend to unusually large distances. As a consequence, the interplay between nuclear and Coulomb excitation processes differs significantly from the situation encountered in reactions involving systems close to the stability line. In particular, nuclear excitation is found to remain predominant at energies well below the Coulomb barrier. PACS numbers: 21.60.-n, 23.20.Js C.H. Dasso, S.M. Lenzi and A. Analytical approach to electromagnetic processes in loosely bound nuclei : application to 8
In this paper we develop an analytical model in order to study electromagnetic processes involving loosely bound neutron–rich and proton–rich nuclei. We construct a model wave function, to describe loosely bound few–body systems, having the correct behaviour both at large and small distances. The continuum states are approximated by regular Coulomb functions. As a test case we consider the two–...
متن کاملEnergy Balance and Gas Thermalization in a High Power Microwave Discharge in Mixtures
The dynamics of fast gas heating in a high power microwave discharge in air, is investigated in the framework of FDTD simulations of the Maxwell equations coupled with the fluid simulations of the plasma. It is shown that, an ultra-fast gas heating of the order of several 100 Kelvins occurs in less than 100 ns. The main role in the heating is played by the electron impact dissociation of , diss...

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify and explain the communication reactions of female victims of infidelity. Methods: The present study employed a phenomenoogical qualitative methodology. The study population consisted of female victims of infidelity in Shemiranat in the year 2016. Data collection continued through interviews until theoretical saturation was obtained. For this 18...
متن کاملModeling Structural Relationships between Trauma experience and Peritraumatic dissociation in People with Earthquake Trauma Experience: The Mediating Role of experiential avoidance
Introduction: Earthquake trauma has a wide range of psychological consequences in the affected areas. In addition, the role of Peritraumatic dissociation - as one of the consequences of trauma and the shaping factor of psychological problems - is still unknown. Therefore, the aim of the present study was to Modeling Structural Relationships between Trauma experience and Peritraumatic dissociati...
متن کاملThe Relationship between Self-esteem and Conversational Dominance of Iranian EFL Learners’ Speaking
The crucial role of affective factors like anxiety, inhibition, motivation and self-esteem have long been of interest in the field of language learning due to their enormous association with the cognitive processes involved in performance in a second or foreign language. This study aimed at investigating the relationship between Iranian EFL learners’ self-esteem and conversational dominance in ...
